Enrichment Program

We are excited to announce online registration is open.  Below are the classes that are available for spring session for K-2nd grade and 3rd-8th grade.  To sign up for a class click on the registration button for that class and then fill out the information.

Registration closes on Tuesday, April 21st, 2020 at 11:59 PM.

Class sizes are limited – Register Early –First come first served

Time: K-2nd Grade: Tuesday/Thursday 2:40 PM–3:40 PM; Wednesday 1:40p–2:40p
3rd – 8th Grade: Tuesday/Thursday 3:40 PM– 4:40 PM; Wednesday 2:40 PM– 3:40 PM;

Students will be dismissed directly to the program – please provide a quick, non-messy snack from home if needed.  Students will need to be picked up promptly. The K-2nd grade can ride the 3rd – 8th grade bus home.

Costs vary depending on the class and are listed below.  A small fee has been added to each class to help cover administrative and other costs associated with this program.

The PTA has a limited number of scholarships available for eligible families.  If you would like to be considered for a scholarship, please contact bv-vc@be.wednet.edu. Only one class per session will be eligible for a scholarship.  Once all requests for scholarships have been submitted and reviewed, you will be contacted regarding your scholarship request.

TUESDAY CLASSES

Class: Art – COST $50

Class description: Students will escape into a world of color and art.  Diving into a different artistic outlet each week they will be creating their own personal art gallery.

Class: Min 8/Max 15

Class: Ukulele – Cost $65

Class description: Are you an inspired musician? Does the sound of music bring a smile to your face? If so then come learn how to play the ukulele from an experienced instructor. Instruments are provided; all you need to bring is a positive attitude and willingness to learn.

WEDNESDAY CLASSES 

Class: Get Active – Cost: $50

Class Description: Are you ready to get physical? Let’s Get Active is the perfect place to let loose and get out your energy. Play your favorite games such as soccer and kickball as well as learn new games.

Class: LEGO® Architecture: Building Through the Ages – COST $66

Class description: In this fun class, students will build their way through history starting with the Ancient Egyptians and ending in a futuristic city! Each week they will learn fun facts about a period in history and then build based on what they learned! They will build buildings, historical settings, and stories out of LEGO® bricks as they learn history and go through time in this Architectural Time Machine!

Class: Babysitting Basics – COST $50

3RD – 8TH GRADE – 2:40 PM – 3:40 PM  Register Here

Class description: Learn all the basic skills needed to be a great babysitter! Topics include: age characteristics of children, behavior management, general infant and toddler care, play ideas, safety issues, and what do in emergency situations. Participants will discover different avenues for finding sitting jobs and working with parents to ensure success. Developing their own personal “bag of tricks” participants will gain confidence and knowledge necessary to be the best babysitter on the block!

THURSDAY CLASSES

Class: Survival Skills – Cost $50

Class description: Students will practice basic outdoor skills to prepare them for exploring the outdoors safely with confidence.  They will be provided Leave No Trace principles.  Learn all about cougars and bears in the wilderness: how to avoid encounters, proper interactions during encounters, and how to react if attacked.  Participants will discover many useful survival tips while gaining knowledge about proper wilderness preparations (I.e. packing a first aid kit, bringing plenty of water), creating natural water filtration systems and identifying animal tracks.

Class: Dance – Cost: $65

Class Description: Students are provided the opportunity to use dance as their creative outlet. Participants will be encouraged to step outside the box and bring their style and personality to the movements. Gaining strength, stamina, and lower and upper body conditioning.

Gym clothes would work best but aren’t required.
